SMART Math

The Math program for Primary 4 students is designed to build on the foundations laid in lower primary school, with the introduction of new concepts and fundamental techniques for academic excellence.

The program, which focuses on number sequences, symmetry, fractions, geometry, and tessellation, in addition to basic arithmetic, combines a curriculum that is catered to school needs with carefully designed materials to reinforce basic skills, concepts, and critical thinking skills; we create a culture of exam savvy students who are skilled in techniques, time management, and self-audit practices, and trained in effective revision, allowing your child to conceptualise concepts clearly within a topic, and continue building a bird’s eye view of the parallel connections within their curriculum.

We provide students with an enriching learning journey through compelling and interactive lessons with our specialist teachers, who make use of an array of fun learning activities from teasers that generate interest in new topics to proprietary games that reinforce and cultivate a love for math.

(1) Model Approach to Problem-Solving I 

Helps children see Math! MAPS is a powerful strategy that enables children to visualize, draw models for and, from there, solve Maths problems.

Model Approach to Problem-Solving I (Elementary) strengthens the ability to perceive, analyze and think in the mental picture. It covers visualization techniques, creative drawing, and application in solving challenging Maths problems. It encompasses:

  • The Four Operations (+ x – ÷)
  • Groups & Sets
  • Part & Whole Concept
  • 2-variables Concept

(2) Model Approach to Problem-Solving II 

Helps children see Math! MAPS is a powerful strategy that enables children to visualize, draw models for and, from there, solve Maths problems.

Model Approach to Problem-Solving II  (Advance) is about the application of model approach in solving challenging Maths problems that involve higher-order thinking skills. It encompasses:

Heuristics Approach Problem-solving trains children to use various common heuristics effortlessly, to solve challenging Maths problems efficiently. It, thus, instills children’s confidence at PSLE Maths. It encompasses:
